Pure luxury,
in every drop.

Aquessence Vitamin Shower Filters turn ordinary tap water into a softer, scented, vitamin-rich ritual. One twist onto your existing shower head, five botanical infusions to choose from.

Aquessence Lavender vitamin shower filter

1

Softer water, instantly

Food-grade vitamin C reacts with residual chlorine the moment water passes through the cartridge, so it never reaches your skin at full strength.

2

Skin and hair feel it

Less chlorine contact means less stripping of natural oils — hair holds colour longer, and skin stays calmer after every shower.

3

A ritual, not just a filter

Each infusion carries its own botanical scent profile, so your shower becomes a small daily moment of calm, focus or energy.

The science behind the shower

Vitamin C shower filtration is not a fragrance trick — it's a well-documented piece of water chemistry. Here's what's actually happening inside every Aquessence cartridge.

01

The chlorine problem

Municipal water is treated with chlorine or chloramine to keep it safe to use — necessary for public health, but tough on skin and hair when it lands on you every single day. Repeated exposure can strip away the skin's natural oils, leave hair dry and dull, fade colour treatments faster, and aggravate conditions like eczema or a sensitive scalp.

02

The vitamin C reaction

Ascorbic acid — vitamin C — reacts with free chlorine almost on contact, converting it into a harmless chloride compound. This is the same chemistry water treatment professionals have used for decades to neutralise chlorine; a shower filter simply puts that reaction to work continuously, as water flows through a core of concentrated, food-grade vitamin C rather than a single dissolved tablet. Because the reaction happens quickly, it's effective even during the brief moment water spends inside the filter.

03

More than one stage of filtration

The vitamin C core does the dechlorination work, but it isn't the only stage. A mesh pre-filter catches sediment, rust and larger particulates before they reach your skin or your showerhead, while the overall cartridge is designed to keep water flowing at a normal, comfortable pressure throughout its life.

04

What it means for skin and hair

With less chlorine reaching you, skin retains more of its natural moisture barrier, hair holds its colour and shine for longer, and the scalp is less prone to the tightness or flaking that chlorinated water can bring on. This is a wellness improvement, not a medical treatment — if you have a diagnosed skin or scalp condition, it's still worth checking in with a dermatologist.

05

The scent layer

Each Aquessence infusion pairs the vitamin C core with a distinct botanical fragrance — bright citrus in Cool Lime and Fresh Mandarin, soft floral in Pure Bloom Freesia, calming herbal notes in Lavender, and grounding cedar and pine in Forest Wood. The scent is chosen to set a mood for the shower itself: energising in the morning, restorative after a long day, calming before bed.

06

Caring for your filter

Most households get roughly 4–8 weeks from a cartridge, depending on shower frequency and how hard the local water is. Flow noticeably slowing, or the scent fading, is the clearest sign it's time to replace. Letting the cartridge drain fully between showers, and keeping it out of direct sunlight, helps the vitamin C core last as long as possible.

This page is general wellness and water-chemistry information intended to explain how vitamin C shower filtration works. It is not medical advice, and Aquessence filters are not a substitute for treatment of any diagnosed skin, scalp or respiratory condition.
